I have heard it said, “A genius is someone who makes complex things simple.”

I agree. That kind of genius is helpful, and it can be a lucrative skill to possess.

People like answers. People need answers. People want answers, quick.

We live in a complex world. We need easy-to-remember and easy-to-apply answers for life. “The early bird gets the worm.” “Practice makes perfect.”

Loud, quick voices sell. Simple, quick answers attract attention. “The squeaky wheel gets the grease.”

  • I believe in moral clarity.
  • I believe in simple truths.
  • Indecision has costs, often extreme.
  • Floundering in information and never landing on solid truth is foolish.

Crowds often shout “It’s simple!”, but sometimes your soul needs to ask deep questions.

Doom scrolling” is an excellent phrase, describing the often destructive habit of reading/watching/seeing everyone’s opinion in 5 seconds or less.I need to pause my scrolling and ask, “What do I really think?”

Our present geopolitical crisis (October 2023) reminds me there is Evil.

  • Who is evil? What is evil? When is evil? Where is evil? Why is evil? How is evil?
  • Who is the slanderer? what? when? where? why? how?
  • Who is the adversary? what? when? where? why? how?
  • Who is right? what? when? where? why? how?
  • Who is truth? what? when? where? why? how?

We can’t always live in the depths, but sometimes wisdom demands it.
Your emotions will love simple answers. People will feed you simple answers.

Your soul needs questions

Don’t be afraid to take time to ask questions and pray.

In order to come to truly wise conclusions often demands it.
