Ponder: to reflect and consider quietly, soberly and deeply; to weigh in the depth of your being.

When was the last time you pondered?

I know, I know, it is so much easier to just click “watch next episode” or to simply swipe up on the next reel, but join me for a moment and start to ponder your pondering. You can thank me later.

What if you took 30 minutes this week to dedicate some cranial calorie burning to pondering?

“How?” you ask. Well, pondering is not as difficult as it might at first appear. You likely have been practicing it today, at least parts of it.

For example, I bet you know how to worry. Worry is simply pondering wrong things. Or have you ever been in an argument and then came up with an amazing rebuttal two or three days later. How did you do it? You were pondering. You probably went over your speech dozens and dozens of times from various angles and with high emotion likely not even realizing all that was going on inside of you.

We were made to ponder. Unfortunately, we often lose on the benefits of this skill because we only use it on the wrong things and with great unintentionally. What if we could practice pondering right things? What if we wen’t about it with intention and focus?

I think I may be on to something.

By the way, everything I’ve said so far is just me pondering about pondering. I’m even convincing myself that pondering may be worth some more of my time and energy.

Here are some ideas about how to ponder…
1. What do I want to ponder?
2. How do I carefully consider this subject from multiple different angles?
3. What are a few things others have said about this?
4. What are the conclusions I have come to?

Love this Noel,
As I heard once, and I’m certain is no issue with you and yours, but for others “pondering”, be careful to not be so open minded that your brain falls out. Our life experiences and knowledge along with Holy Spirit are an amazing teacher if we would only slow down, stop and ponder things a while. For me, easily and best accomplished through fasting and prayer. Daniel fast for me cause I love to eat ;-)

Bravo Noel!
Merry Christmas
